Adjustable friction is very helpful.
I am using it to mount a Raymarine Chartplotter.
The plotter is flush mounted in a cabinet and the are
allows it to swing out and be viewable at 90 degress from
the front of hte cabinet. I had a custom trunnion
fabricated from Stainless steel and bolted it to the flat
mount on the swing arm mount.
Works great. John, December 28, 2009 I purchased this for a Huminbird 997 si fishfinder for my
bass boat. I selected this model because it did not have a
rubber ball and socket system. The ball and socket system,
which I have on the face plate to my Sirius radio system
have a tendency to move and I figure this would be more
secure. I haven't installed yet. Waiting for the
Huminbird. Tim, July 13, 2009 I needed something for my Garmin 4208 which is fairly big
and this solved my dash mounting issue. Very stable under
pounding sea and stays in place.
