that I can now plug in to rear of garmin, THEN snap it into
the clamshell... Why would Ram oversee such an obvious

The mount has rubberized joints that appear to absorb some
bounce and vibration.
Very solid. I mounted my NUVI 550 on my SeaDoo Sportster -
a very bouncy boat in big water.
Very happy with the purchase overall. The mount that came
with the GPS is crap by comparison.
