Krakrak, September 27, 2010 I was surprised by the built quality of this mount. It will
probably outlive the GPS...
Ken in Regina, July 16, 2010 Easy installation. Solid mount. Flexible positioning to get
the best angle to see the screen.
Exactly what I was looking for!
Someone did an earlier review and said the GPS bounced out
when he went over a bump. I don't believe it unless he did
not place the unit in the bracket completely. You would
have to destroy the front of the bike in order to knock the
unit loose from the mounting bracket and I'm not sure the
GPS would come even then.
Someone else complained that the design of the bracket made
it really difficult to get the eTrex in and out. I do not
find it a problem. (I'm 63 and have small hands.)
I've put over 1200km mostly on gravel backroads, many with
washboard, and a little rough offroad riding, including
dropping the bike at slow speed once already. The eTrex has
never been close to coming out of its bracket and the
bracket has never shown any sign of coming loose from the
bike. Not even when I dumped the bike.
Drew Winkler, June 8, 2010 I used the RAM mounting system for my Garmin eTrex and it
worked great. We logged over 126 miles of nasty Hatfield
McCoy trails in West Virgina and it worked with no problems.
