the width of the mount is not wide enough for some glare
shield. Also, it should have come with a longer arm. The
tightening screws on the arm hit the screws on the mount
and it is very difficult to adjust.

In order to mount this on the Bell 206 helicopter glare
shield I had to make some modifications, since the rim (lip)
of the glare shield does not permit installation of the
mount as is:
1) Replace the plastic knurled screws with 1½" thumb screws
(flat oval end) to make it easier to secure.
2) Cut 1/8" aluminum sheet about 1" x 2" and stick the
provided self adhesive rubber padding onto it. This is
placed between the glare shield and the mount screws to
protect the glare shield from getting scratched or
cracked/broken.
3) Drill and tap (threading) ¼"-20 holes opposite the
existing threaded screws, I put in there short ¼"-20 screws
and put on them the provided plastic caps, this permits
securing the mount around the lip of the glare shield.
Pity I can't attach a picture to show the finished result.
It secures well and is pretty steady. Mounting a Garmin 296
on this.
This works better for me than the vice style clamp
RAP-B-121BU as the glare shield mount doesn't interfere with
the gauges.

Openning is not wide to fit my Piper Cherokee Six. Arm to
short so the screws are in the way, cut them shorter if you
need to. Well I use it in my car now with some home made
modification.
