Only negative comment would also applie to your other balls
mounts and that is the item would look much better is the
rubber could be masked and confined to only the sphere and
not go onto the stem. Cosmetics!

I have used RAM products for all style mounting options.
This component is great when needing to configure your own
mounting solution but still want to use RAM components like
extension arms and the sort. The 1/4-20 threading is a
industry standard for most applications, so it is easy to
mate up with most components that accept this thread.
Aesthetically, the rubber ball is a little messy looking
because they must dip the ball head into a rubber solution
to give the coating it needs. You can tell that this process
is either careless and fast because the rubber bleeds out
and drips down the side. This is just a cosmetic problem and
is hidden when a RAM connector arm is put on.

I needed this item to be able to attach my ram mounts to the
rear of my motorcycle. I simply drilled a tiny hole in the
rear carrier and attached to B-Ball with a screw. I am now
able to attach my camera facing the back to video the
motorcycles when we are on tour.

This RAM mount (combined with the Universal X-Grip Phone
Cradle with B-Ball) provided just what I needed to be able to
mount my smartphone onto a tripod.
