Although this mount is not intended for the TH-D72A there is
a rather enticing internet article on modifying this mount
to use with the TH-D72A -- the recent update to the TH-D7.
So I plunked down some cash, and tried using this mount
with my THD72A. After extensive Dremel work to the mount
the THD72A just (barely) fit in. The fit is overly tight.
It would be fine if you were to leave the radio in the mount
and never take it out. However if you wish to put the radio
in and out of the mount frequently (as I do) you will end up
scratching up your radio. I would strongly advise against
getting this mount for the Kenwood THD72A. Instead try the
RAM Mount Plastic Universal Belt Clip Bar Cradle Holder--
the THD72A fits perfectly in it (using the belt clip on the
back of the radi or using the Kenwood THD72A radio case with
its integral clip).

This mount not only holds the THD-7 but, with a little
Dremel tool work, this mount can also be used for the THD-
72 radio.
