Recent reviews for this item: Robr, April 30, 2013 Universal fits all cases Phileas Fogg, April 26, 2013 I bought this to mount an iPad4 with aviation functions for use in a light aircraft or helicopter. The mount was easy to assemble and fitted with the other parts I ordered to allow it to be attached to a suitable flat surface on the instrument panel or even a curved surface like an aircraft windscreen. I bought this item to save me taking the iPad out of it's holder every time I wanted to use it elsewhere. Well it works hanging on the the vertical work surfaces in my kitchen without any problems at all. I've yet to try it out in my aeroplane. The iPad is quite heavy and must exert a reasonable torque to any surface in is attached to. Whilst I've no doubt it will manage to 'hang on' in smooth flight conditions I don't know how it'll manage in rough. The holder grips the iPad well and will not allow it to fall off. It needs care when fitting the iPad, as the spring force is quite strong, to ensure no scuff damage is done to the (in my instance) to the soft case.
