This is a reasonably priced, very versatile unit that can be adjusted to fit most handheld devices. It has been used on two different motorcycles for about 4000 miles. No complaints. It will hold a Droid phone or a 9500 IX without changing the adjustments. I do use a Velcro safety strap, which is probably not necessary.

I bought this to hold my Elecraft KX3 amateir radio transceiver. It works great for this purpose and am sure it would work great with a GPS unit.

I had mishaps with RAM's X-Grip holder dropping my Droid 2 when riding my scooter at highway speeds. The Finger Grip cradle is a perfect and secure fit. It is extremely adjustable and customizable. I was able to set it up to hold my phone on all four sides such that it doesn't budge at all when riding over bumps or through ordinary vibrations. I can finally use my phone as GPS without worry. And in the event I change phones, I can adjust it to fit the next one.

used in 4x4 and holds phone very secure. have it rigged so phone can be removed by lifting up. use mid size clips. also have lifeproof cover on iphone.solid just like all ram holders i have. boat, ranger, 4 wheeler.
