motorcycle. I use an Aua-Box when it's rainy but the phone
tended to overheat when it was in the box in warm weather.
I bought the X-mount as a clear weather alternative.
I was concerned that the phone would slide in the grips but
after almost 1000 miles of highway, back roads, dirt roads
and some off roading, it has not budged at all! It's
performance has absolutely exceeded my expectations.
I assume that I'll have to keep the grips clean in order to
maintain their "grippyness" but that is a fairly easy task.
The nice thing about it is the versatility. It will hold my
back-up GPS or even the Nuvi from my truck, if I want.
The only down-side I have encountered so far is the the
grips will press the side buttons on the phone if I don't
position it carefully. Obviously that's a model specific
issue (Gen 1 Droid) but just putting it out there. Musher, May 28, 2012 Good product. It holds my phone with the Otterbox on and

Combined with the X-Grip I have a solid mount to use on my
motorcycle. 500mi ride and the phone never moved. Phone is
easy to install and remove.
The phone needs to sit off to one side to avoid pressing the
volume buttons, but I am able to place the phone in a
position that allows use of a phone charger and keep from
pressing the volume controls. Perfect to use my phone as my
GPS unit when needed.
Only problem is that while the phone is installed, I can
rotate the arms (and rotate the phone). This could easily be
remedied if RAM would tie the 4 arms together with little
gears internally. Not a big deal... Since my phone sits off
to the side in the mount, I just rotated the mount slightly
so that the phone sits level when in place, so the phone
doesn't rotate while riding.
I highly recommend for a motorcycle rider to mount their phone!
