If you're planning to power your
RAM mounted Quest or Quest 2 with
your motorcycle, this is a MUST
HAVE.
Very glad that GPS City still
carries it. Since the Quest and
Quest 2 are both discontinued,
this power adapter is nearly
impossible to find brand new.

I use the Quest 2 in the car and with Garmin
topographical maps when hiking. I was looking for
a way to use it on my Harley Electra Glide
Classic by using the auxiliary input on the
bike’s radio. The price for this power cable was
over $100 a year or so ago so the purchase was
put off until I found it at GPS City at a
reasonable price. I hooked it up to the battery
charger harness that I have on the bike. Unplug
it when not in use! I got the necessary hook up
parts at a local electronics store. A small
stereo plug adapter plugged into the 1/8 inch
mono output from the Quest 2 power adapter
through a short 3 foot or less stereo cable into
the auxiliary radio input allows both radio
speakers to function (important in traffic and at
highway speed). I used a trailer type plug with
red and black wires, also from the electronics
store, that fits into the battery harness
connector soldered to the corresponding colored
power cable wires. When making this connection BE
SURE to remember that the female end of the
battery harness connector is the positive
terminal on the battery and the male end of the
battery harness connector is the negative
terminal. If not using the power cable on a
Harley be sure to double check the connection on
the bike in question. All RAM MOUNT parts were
used. Can be used with stereo head set under your
helmet with the stereo plug adapter.
