I had to move the post to the side so that I could continue
to use the fold down coffee holder and junk holder, which
this just barely allows. Despite this, and I'm sure they
don't recommend it, the platform is ROCK SOLID! And, with
the various pivots/swivels, etc. it's very versatile. I
added the Universal Cell phone Mini Surface Plate Mount,
which works great and attached to the side of this
assembly. (another review, but yes,it's rock solid and
great as well!). A bit complex assembly, but fairly well
spelled out. The hardware labeling was the weak point, but
I quickly got with the swing of things. Assembled in the
dark no less!
