Although I rarely remove the mount from my vehicle the remove-
a-pole is very handy when I need the extra space. I can remove
the mount in a few seconds

Although the item did not come with installation
instructions, looking at the photos on-line was helpful.
Product is well made & works good, worth the money.

The entire concept of a Ram Mount vehicle mount is to provide
a "stable" platform for your equipment. Unfortunately, the
way this is designed destabilizes a perfectly good mount.
The two halves are tapered so that it "should" assemble to be
a tight and stable unit. Where they went wrong is instead of
making an indent or hole where the pin would recess in the
inner piece, there is a slot which allows vertical movement
when assembled and since the pieces are tapered, when it
moves up (and it will move while driving), it totally
destabilizes the entire mount.
I believe that if it would have been designed with slightly
tapered hole for the pin instead of a slotted hole, it would
maintain much better stability.
Perhaps mine is defective but it certainly looks as if it was
designed this way.
