This is my first phone bike cradle. I have a Samsung GalaxyS3. Because of it's screen size it's a pretty wide phone but still fits in the cradle comfortably, even with a rubber cover on the phone. The X cradle holds the phone very securely I don't believe it would pop out even during a crash. The kit comes with an extra set of rubber mounts for the feet of the X, which is nice. After receiving my kit I ordered a couple of the mounts separately for my other two bikes. The X cradle is spring loaded on the mount and comes off with no trouble, and is easily remounted on your other ride. The mount is secured to the handlebar with two zip ties, so you'll need to make sure you have some spares if you want to move the mount. (But the new mounts are only a few dollars. Recommend just buying a mount for each bike.)
A couple of tips: 1) Make sure your phone will fit the X before ordering. 2) Even though your phone will fit, don't be surprised if you have to mount it off-center a little to avoid one of the feet pressing on a volume or on/off key. That's what I had to do. Still, even with two of the feet just an inch away from the top of the phone, it is still held securely.
Overall a great little device that, combined with a few android cycling apps, will provide me with years of enjoyment and no need to buy a dedicated cycling gps.

The zip tie mounting straps are fine, allayed my concerns that the mount would flop around, and are long enough to allow me to mount it centrally on my Suzuki S40's handlebar (almost a 2" diameter). The combination of spring pressure and rubber bumpers holds an iPhone (or whatever else you choose to put in there) very firmly, and adding a rubberized case to the device (Otterbox in my case) while obviously good to protect the device, is by no means necessary otherwise. My only criticism is that it while it allows you to rotate the iPhone between portrait and landscape view (a good thing), it rotates with little resistance, and it doesn't appear to be possible to tighten anything to increase the friction.

Works very well with my iPhone 5 in an Otter Box commuter
case. Have only been on one bike ride since installing but
held the phone very secure.

I looked at many bicycle iPhone mounts. But because My phone
is in a wooden case none would work that is until I found
this universal mount. I use almost everyday for short around
town rides plus I have been on 5 or 6 15 plus mile bike
rides and the phone is vary secure within the mount
