The supplied mount works well in the car and happily sits on the dash, but does function so well in a light aircraft or helicopter. The yoke mount provided sometimes gets in the way of the controls on some aircraft I fly and just doesn't fit on others and especially not those with a stick (or cyclic as in a helicopter). It is just in the way. The ram mount was the perfect solution. I removed the GPS mounting bracket from the supplied Yoke mount. Bought 4 nuts and bolts from my local hardware shop and fitted this to the bracket on the ram mount. The Ram adheres very strongly to even curved windscreens and can be angled as to be placed in a useful position to be viewed easily without obscuring other instruments or the outside world. for my need. \used the Ram mount web site to put together what
I wanted, picked one of the online sellers from the Ram mount,
figured out the price of the unit and shipping, then checked
the Canadian web site, GPS City, and their price was lower
than the Ram mount site, and shipping was way less than the US
web site. Delivery was WAY faster than I expected.
