I have this mount installed side way (screw pointing to the
sky)on the stem of my bicycle with front suspension. The
plastic mount near the neck of the ball broke on a big bump
while it was holding my 1.2lbs Garmin GPS.
I am going to buy this item again because it is very handy
on the bike with other RAM mount add-on. Just be careful to
not stretch the plastic too much. It is only plastic!

This worked well for a while but eventually broke. There is
a lot of vibration on a bicycle handlebar so I'm going to
try RAM-B-231U next which looks a lot stronger.

I used this item to hold a Bullet (Lipstick) Camera. It
works great for that! It really keeps the vibration down
to a minimum as it hugs the middle of the camera instead of
attaching to the back end.

Garmin's stated range of bar sizes this unit will
fit is way off. I'll need a lot of rubber padding
to put this on a 7/8" handlebar. Garmin admits
I'll need to add the padding so why don't they
include it with the mount?

I've been looking for a larger clamp system for boat rails up to 2"
