i found the new 530 easy to figure out how to run and it has very good range when using the walkie-talkie.with the extra maps to download it is excellent for hunting and fishing.can't wait to get the blue chart for ice fishing it will save drilling lots of holes on new lakes because it provides all the depths so there is little searching for shoals

We bought a Rhino 530 for sea kayaking in BC's Islands.
On our first outing with sea kayaks (6 days in the Broken Group) the recharge connection points on the 'Rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery' turned green and corroded down to nothing.
Fortunately I had also bought the extra AA battery pack and it was fine with that.
The 530 itself worked very well and normally locked 7-8 satellites in less than a minute. It also was strapped to my life vest through some very rough seas and was constantly exposed to saltwater and submerged briefly a time or two.
My only complaint is with the recharge connections on the rechargable battery.
