I have been using the Street Pilot III for about two years. I have compared it to the built in versions and find that it offers the same features at 1/4 the cost. Once you get used to it, input of info is quite simple. The only problem I find is that the memory card is not large enough. I would purchase an additional card if you do extensive travelling out of your area. I do have info on the card from Southern Florida up the East coatd to Atlantin City, N.J. and also Western Georgia. In conclusion, let me say that this is the best alternative to the built in navigation systems. I am 100% satisfied.

I,m a ghostowner, and Lowrance has put a GPS on the market just for us inlanders at a great price. with great detail, And is as good or if not better then the higher priced units out there. I have owned Lowrance GPS units for years and this one is the best for off road driving. The detail is the Best!! Thanks Lowrance you have never let me down. PS It will save you allot on gas, "YOU WON'T GO UP THE WRONG CANYON"!!!

I have had it for 4 years and it was great while it lasted. Only complaints were that the power cord would stop working every 2 years. It finally died a few months ago. I tried to fix it but Garmin kept sending faulty refurbished ones. Great while it lasted and am looking to replace with another Garmin.
