After a trip in Dec. 2008 from NJ to Virginia, driving
through Washington DC, after about a minute on the loop I
realized my GPS' 2008 map was outdated. It went into a
re-calculating frenzy you wouldn't believe. Apparently the
recently completed construction along the route hadn't been
passed on to the folks at Garmin. Anyway recently I was
planning a return trip so I ordered the replacement DVD with
the North America NT 2010 Map Update DVD, Kenwood version to
avoid problems. After an insane 2 hour update process I was
eager to see the changes. Prior to starting the update I
wrote down verbatim the original messed up route to Va. Then
checked it against the new map. Unbelievable! It was the
same error ridden crap! Bad enough it's 2011 and the most
updated map Garmin offers is 2010, bad enough that it's
$70., but add to that the fact that they didn't include to
update for our Nation's Capital despite that the area in
question completed construction in 2009! So I go off mad at
the thing and start checking other places I've been which
have changed. Like the Waterfront in West New York, NJ!
Guess what! Also not updated, and those roads have been
there for 8 years already! My cellphone GPS has better maps!
It seems that the only thing updated is the POI's which I'm
guessing Garmin charges them for adding too! I want my
money back, and if at all possible I expect Garmin to step
up here and do their updates better!

The DVD was very easy to use but had to leave the truck
running during the 2 hour installation time.
