Jim, December 31, 1969 The GPS V sucks. Have endured endless frustration trying to adapt its serial port to laptop with USB to download maps and use as on the road GPS mapping. City Select with all region unlock code is included which makes the price even sweeter. I have found the unit to be a stellar performer, rugged and dependable. I also purchased the deluxe beanbag mount used for the Street Pilot series GPS which also works with the V. My only gripe(s) would be the screen can be hard to read in bright light, but that is easily remedied with a homemade "hood" made from card stock. Also downloading maps via a serial port can be time consuming; have another activity planned while waiting for the downloads to complete. I do enjoy the fact that it is equally at home on the dash or in my hand geocaching. I would have no problem recommending this unit to others; the price and feature combination can't be beat. Nice option on the mobile to portable for geocaching. A+ unit!
