This little keyboard is crafted for the iPad 1st Gen and is exactly
what I was looking for. It allows me to work comfortably at night as
I would on a laptop.
Just two things I would change, or maybe three:
1.) I would prefer a way to more securely "anchor" the iPad in the
kb cradle, as I have to take care not to tip it out [ie onto the
floor, etc.] when I am getting up.
2.) The battery seems to run low pretty quickly, and its lights are
not intuitive or conclusive. I have taken to using it plugged in.
Combined with battery issues on the iPad [an iOS-related bug, or
some such], this means routinely swapping my usb charger between the
two to complete my evening tasks. A better battery, and/or more
lights and/or a percentage indicator, perhaps via a monitor app,
might be a nice addition.
3.) If the two could be charged together, I would feel considerably
less grumpy about all this. They are using juice to power the
bluetooth after all, in addition to my apps and wifi.
In summary, I am a little miffed at the cost-per-annoyance factor,
but all in it does what is promised and is really quite amazing to
have. Since it is a design for the older iPad 1Gen I am not
expecting to find anything else this slick, or to see improvements
for this model. So overall I am quite pleased it exists.
